General Climbing

What types of climbing do you offer?

We specialize in:

  • Rock Climbing: Single and multi-pitch routes (grades 5.6 to 5.12)
  • Mountaineering: High-altitude ascents (e.g., Kinabalu, Rinjani)
  • Via Ferrata: Protected climbing routes (available in several locations)
  • Ice Climbing: Seasonal programs (December-February)
  • Bouldering: Short challenging problems with crash pads

What's included in climbing packages?

All packages include:

  • Certified climbing guides (1:2 ratio for technical climbs)
  • All technical equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners, etc.)
  • Safety equipment (helmets, first aid kits)
  • Permits and park fees
  • Accommodation during the climb

Exclusions: Personal gear (shoes, clothing), travel insurance, flights.

Safety & Training

What safety certifications do your guides have?

All lead guides hold:

  • IFMGA/UIAGM certification (international standard)
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical training
  • Local guiding licenses
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience

We maintain a maximum 1:4 guide-to-client ratio for all technical climbs.

What emergency procedures are in place?

Our safety protocols include:

  • Satellite communication devices on all climbs
  • Evacuation plans for each route
  • Partnerships with local rescue services
  • Comprehensive medical kits
  • Daily weather monitoring
  • Client tracking systems

Equipment & Gear

What personal gear do I need to bring?

Essential personal items:

  • Climbing shoes (or sturdy hiking boots for mountaineering)
  • Appropriate clothing layers (no cotton)
  • Climbing harness (we can provide if needed)
  • Personal helmet (optional - we provide)
  • Daypack (20-35L)
  • Water bottles (2-3L capacity)

You'll receive a detailed packing list after booking.

Do you provide technical climbing equipment?

Yes, we provide all shared technical gear:

  • Ropes (dynamic and static)
  • Protection gear (cams, nuts, quickdraws)
  • Belay devices
  • Anchor building materials
  • Group first aid kits

All equipment is inspected before each use and replaced annually.

Certification & Skills

Do I need prior climbing experience?

Requirements vary by program:

  • Beginner Routes: No experience needed
  • Intermediate: Basic belay skills recommended
  • Advanced: Lead climbing experience required
  • Mountaineering: Previous altitude experience

We offer training sessions before all climbs to assess skills.

Can I get certified through your programs?

Yes! We offer certification courses:

  • Basic Rock Climbing: 2-day course (belay certification)
  • Lead Climbing: 3-day course
  • Rescue Techniques: 2-day course
  • Mountaineering Fundamentals: 5-day course

All certifications are internationally recognized.
